HITMAN 2 SILENT ASSASIN: A DEADLY GOOD GAME

Reviewed by J WALK

Your name is Codename 47. You are a genetically engineered hitman created from a professor that wants to secretly take over the world.

Your missions are simple, or so they seem when you are reading their descriptions. The mission objectives are usually to kill your target and get out of there undetected. Occasionally, you have to plant a car bomb or steal a top secret item from the dead guy. But in the end, your creator turns on you and you end up killing the guy. Hitman was a good game but the birth game is nothing compared to the sequel.

Hitman 2 Silent Assassin sets you in the life of Codename 47 once again. This time he has come out of retirement to get revenge on the people who put him into retirement. The graphics on this game are superb. There is no other game that has graphics quite like it. The guns for the game are given great detail. You can easily tell from just playing the first mission that the developers, Eidos, spent a great amount of time in making this game look real. The missions in this game are longer than the missions in the original Hitman game. The missions take you to various places around the world including Russia, Italy and Japan. Each city that you visit has a chapter of missions that you must complete in order to progress to the next city. All the missions in the chapter lead up to the final mission which is assassinate a certain target in the city which you are currently located in.

If you do end up getting this game, I must warn you that you must thoroughly hide the bodies of killed subjects or nearby patrolling guards will find the bodies and hunt you down with a large army, giving you a small chance to live, and leaving you no choice but to restart the mission.

Also, do not play this game thinking that you will easily throw your opponents to the ground like the Incredible Hulk, some of these enemies require a good amount of bullets.

Overall I think Hitman 2 Silent Assassin is an excellent game. For the most part I think it will be a game that should soon become a classic and it is not expensive to buy. That would be excellent, wouldn't it? Anyway I give Hitman 2 Silent Assassin nine stars out of ten. Hitman 2 Silent Assassin is available for Xbox, Playstation 2, Gamecube, and PC.
