In this age of manufactured pop music and of competitions to find the new 'voice' of music it is refreshing to hear a band like The Strokes. From their album you can tell they are a band who love making music.

Julian, the lead singer's voice has a distinctive feel, typical of guitar rock, while the drummer and guitarists keep a very tight rhythm, creating some very catchy riffs, pleasant on the ear.
Their debut album Is This It is incredibly infectious, perfect for a party, or simply when feeling in an upbeat mood. Its songs contain some very emotive lyrics while still sounding simply like a good fun time old band. Standout tracks on the album include Last Nite, Barely Legal, Someday and Modern Age.

If like myself you are fed up with the music we are forced to listen to on the radio then I recommend this album - any true guitar rock fan will love it, a must in any collection.
